At first glance, the dark humoured subject matter of the collateral may not be to everyones taste. However, North Carolina born Razzak uses his Iraqi heritage to challenge, trigger, and disarm his audience.
Noor was very particular about what he wanted portrayed in the composition. It was fantastic to work directly with a client that had a clear vision of the end product. Having been supplied with some initial photography, I started playing around with different image treatments and type styles with the goal of retaining the ‘tongue and cheek’ aspect of the shows subject matter.
After exploring a couple different concepts, we both agreed that an illustrative visual language helped portray the spirit of Noor’s particular brand of comedy. The simplified image detail and colour palette amplified the over composition while drawing the customer’s eye to information about the show.
